I immediately felt at home again, greeting my human and furry friends, many of whom I remembered. This time I went with my friend Nancy who joined me on a 36-day exploration Tour of India. Nancy is a veteran dog mama with plenty of experience working in dog shelters. It is thanks to her that I made the acquaintance of this amazing project in the first place.

<img title = "Vegetarian Peru Adventures Blog 52551978_10161258275970104_6668855399069777920_n The Peaceful Warriors of Animal Aid "loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="790" height="790" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-743" src="http://veggieperu.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/52551978_10161258275970104_6668855399069777920_n.jpg" alt = "" srcset="https://veggieperu.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/52551978_10161258275970104_6668855399069777920_n.jpg 790w, https://veggieperu.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/52551978_10161258275970104_6668855399069777920_n-768x768.jpg 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 790px) 100vw, 790px" />

The shelter was founded by Erika Abrams, her partner Jim Myers and their daughter Claire from the USA, who fell in love with Udaipur when on an India trip decades back.
